Rehearsal Dinner?

Is a Rehearsal dinner necessary?  Who comes to a rehearsal dinner? Does anyone know of a great place to have one at around carlsbad/Encinitas area?  I need a place that is not too expensive. My MIL had originally offered to take care of it but has backed out recently , so this is a last minute expense. :(Thanks!Christina

If you are having a rehearsal, then it is customary to have a dinner. You invite all the people in your wedding party (and spouses/significant others), immediate family, pastor/officiant, and now it has become the trend to try to include out of town family/guests, but that last part isn't mandatory. I've seen fancy expensive rehearsal dinners, and casual ones. You could have it at a pizza place if you want....pizza, salad, beer..etc. Lots of people have had it in Old Town, and the Mexican places aren't that expensive. I've heard GREAT things about Fidel's in Solana Beach. I know it's out of the area, but maybe there is a wonderful mexican place you already know of.

Check out Casa De Bandini up in Encinitas/Carlsbad area. Inexpensive, GOOD Mexican food. Just make sure you set up reservations, because it can fill up FAST.
