Hair on the wedding day-issues

I had planned to have my (and some of my girls') hair done at my house on the big day.  I asked my mother to have a friend of hers who does this kind of thing if she would come over.  Originally, she said that would be fine.  As time passed, she asked for pictures of the girls as well as what kind of style they wanted her to do (not unreasonable...I said fine). Now, flash forward to the other day when I get the message that she wants everyone to do their own hair and she'll just do "touch ups."  I said absolutely not...the whole idea was to have someone else do our (including my!!) hair.  I don't think I was being unreasonable, do you?I'm wondering now if I'll need to find someone else to do this if she gives me any more grief about it.  We're getting married in Danville, Pa.  If anyone knows of another place to check out...I really want someone to come to us since I'd like the morning to be as relaxed as possible (my mother is planning breakfast for everyone while they're at the house).Just had to vent a bit...thanks!

You are right to say "absolutely NOT" that is BS, IMO. I would definitely book with someone else. You want to LOVE everything about your wedding day and even thought you"could" do your hair, it won't be as nice if someone else does it for you. Good job on sticking up for yourself!

I grew up in Danville so I might be able to help!I had my hair done for my wedding by Michelle from Serendipity in Bloomsburg (she came to NY as a guest for my wedding but would likely be willing to come to your mom's home). I have had friends who used Headlines and liked it, but I have no idea if they travel to you.HTH, I can offer more suggestions if you need them

No that's stupid that she would just do "touch ups". You and your bridesmaids can do touch ups! I have the same problem, I have no idea who is going to do my hair. I have no skills in that department at all, and my hair is really thin, so I need someone who can work with that.

Hi ladies!  Sorry you've run into such troubles! I've posted on another thread about a girl in Harrisburg (who is willing to travel w/in reason) to do your hair.  She also does make up and is reasonably priced.  If you'd like her contact info feel free to email me directly . . . martybeth1976@yahoo.com

I got a chance to talk to one of the ladies at Headlines on Saturday.  She said that her and her mother had travelled to the Poconos last year to do a wedding, so it seems that they will go out of the salon for certain things.  She needs to check with the owner yet to confirm if they can do it, but I'm optimistic. I have already had to re-do my own hair at a past wedding because the salon did an awful job, so I'm somewhat familiar doing my own "touch ups!"  Hopefully that will be unnecessary this time around!I've had everyone I've told my story to tell me the same thing...that this woman was completely unreasonable!  I'm feeling a little better about things at this point!
