Decor challenge: Working with Tartan

Hi LadiesSo I am looking for some help.  My fiancé will be wearing his kilt on our wedding day and I am super excited.  His tartan is the Robertson Modern Hunting Tartan http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.lochcarron.com/reiver/N-R/rbh_a.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.lochcarron.com/reiver/robertson_hunting.html&usg=__8rijolLVeZ4yPpQ1v8JS4fJem1k=&h=344&w=450&sz=53&hl=en&start=7&um=1&tbnid=v9I_IEWg_Ec4FM:&tbnh=97&tbnw=127&prev=/images%3Fq%3Drobertson%2Bhunting%2Bmodern%2Btartan%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1The tartan is blue green red and black.  I think I would like to pull out the red and black as I am doing a fall wedding and if I pull out the red I can add orange as well.  Any thoughts on table decor or any other incorporation of this kilt pattern would be very very very very appreciated.  My brain is numb just trying to wrap my head around it.     Hmmm. As cool as tartans are with all of their history and stuff, I think overdoing it can look really cheesy. A little tartan goes a very long way!Personally, I would go with the fall red-orange-black theme, and then incorporate the tartan as ribbons, at most. So for example, maybe you could find a similar pattern on a ribbon to tie your favours and bouquets, and add the ribbons at the base of each cake tier. How about a tartan tablecloth or table runner for the cake table or guestbook/favours tables?

    Ooh! Wrap a box in similar-pattered wrapping paper for your card box or as a base for your seating chart, if you're having one. (Or if you can't find the same pattern on paper, just use some green and blue to incorporate the colours, or even paint?)

    Thank you ring pop! Yes I agree too much tartan is not good. I was thinking of tying off the bouquets with the tartan and maybe making tartan napkin holders or scattering the table with tartan hearts. Other than that, I think pulling the major colours of the tartan would suffice.. ....now if I could only find tartan shoes LOL. Thanks again!

    There is a store in Oakville that specializes in tartan. They actually sell chocolate and candy but for some reason you can buy ties/scarfs/fabric etc in a big variety of tartans. If the groomsmen are wearing suits you could perhaps get them a matching tartan tie ( not sure if it's bad to wear someone else's family tartan)I believe the store is called the candy cupboard.
