I am looking for Maggie Sottero Jovi dress, trying to find it cheaper then the dress shops around here. Someone told me about Pearls Place in Metarie,which is about 3 hrs from where I am. I was just wondering if anyone knew if there dresses were actually discounted or not. I sent them an emailasking themfor a quote but they said they could not quote Maggie dresses in an e-mail.Thanks!Jen

    Call them and they will give you the price.  I have called several times for prices on bridesmaids dresses.  Their prices have been generally cheaper than other places I have checked.  It tends to vary how much from dress to dress.

    Ditto, they will give you a price quote if you call.  They do run less expensive than any other store I've seen in the area so it may well be worth checking out!

    Hi Jen,A friend of mine is getting married in April of next year, we actually went Saturday 9/12/09 to Pearls Place in Metairie and she ordered the "Fleur" Maggie Sottero dress and it was only $800, it wasn't the "Jovi" dress, but I am sure they have it and their prices are great!  Good Luck!Tiff

    i didn't get that brand dress but i did get a dress price quote from pearls and then went to a local store (where i live in georgia) and asked them to match the price because.  they matched it without asking twice.  i would find out the price from pearls via telephone and try to get a local shop to match it.  it will save you the 7 hours of driving :)

    Pearl's is known for great selection and price but just a heads up i highly recommend doing some research before deciding to do business with them. look up reviews of their shop online. this could potentially save you a lot of stress in the future. just sayin.

    Thanks everyone, I called today and the price they gave me was the same price in the 2 stores I went to around here..so either I just pay the money or look for another dress! Don't know what to do yet! thanks for the help though! Maybe if I find another dress they will have that one cheaper..

    If I can help here Maggie Sottero will not allow discounting at all from any of their authorized vendors. What you can do is try to find a dress that looks like a Maggie or just go with it. Pearl's Place does not discount that line and I do not think there are any other stores that will, the company is very strict on that.

    pearls place is cheaper for bridesmaid dresses for sure and they include alterations BUT i have heard horror stories from there and they arent very nice once you buy your dress...i did choose to go with them for my bridesmaid dresses though to save my girls some money...you could also try Humbug or Charlotte Johnson in Kenner cuz they carry maggie dresses

    I agree with amonchad...about Pearls Place not being very nice once you get your dress.  My consultant pretty much ignored me when I came in to try on my dress to show my MOH after I had already ordered it.  The customer service is definitely not that great...Because of it, I will definitely be getting my bridesmaids dresses from somewhere else.I also decided not to get alterations at Pearls Place because I had heard negative things.  Definitely, don't expect good customer service there.  If I could do it over again, I probably would have gotten my dress somewhere else.

    Frankly I had not one problem with that store. If you go on Saturday you will wait, that is the only problem. I would avoid Charlotte Johnson as they do not carry all of the Maggie gowns and friends tell me they wait for 6 months to get an order, even on maids. I had good alterations with the new staff that does that. A couple of years ago I did not as another fitter did all, and I did not like her attitude. I think that person is now at Town and Country as we saw her there.

    i find they are the most reasonable i got my wedding dress their i could not believe my dress which is very detaile with lace and beading was only 900

    I had no problem with Charlotte Johnson in Kenner. She was very reasonable. They didn't have the Maggie I wanted at any store in the region, so I called her up to see if she had it and told me she would order it and if I didn't like it, she would buy it back form me to sell in her store and i could use the money to order another dress if I liked. I thought that was very generous. I got my Maggie for $1013 with tax and alterations included. And like I said before, I had to order it and it came in like 2-3 weeks. It was very fast. I hope my alterations go well :)
