Poll: guests changing clothes if there is a gap

I posted this on F&B, but i wanted to get bride-to-be opinions:I am going to my cousin's wedding out of town next weekend. They have a church ceremony and then a 3 hour gap, and then an evening dinner and reception. My mom mentioned she plans to wear a more simple dress to the ceremony and the change into a long formal gown for the reception.I thought this might be a good idea for me too...wear a more simple black dress to the ceremony and then a more "fun" /"cute" dress to the reception that I wouldn't want to wear to church (it is not slutty, but it is strapless and ruffly on the bottom- just seems to girly for a wedding ceremony in a chuch at 2:30PM).Since there is a 3 hour gap, I will have plenty of time to change.what do you think?

Re: Poll: guests changing clothes if there is a gap

  • Go for it! I've never been to a gap wedding, but I'd definitely consider two outfits if I did...
  • i've changed between church and reception quite a few times, especially if it's a sumer day wedding (wear a sundress, not a black cocktail dress!) and a night reception (sundress was not going to cut it).  it's nice to freshen up too.
  • I have never done that usually if there is a gap I end up drinking and watching sports with random wedding guests at the bar closest to the reception.
