Hi ladies!! I am new- made the leap from the Minneapolis board to this board today. I was married on Saturday in St. Paul MN, and just moved down to the Phoenix area. I need some advice because I am new in town! Where are the good bakeries? Any place in the west valley area with awesome cupcakes??? Thanks!Nathalie

    I live on the east side of the valley, so I can't help you with the bakery advice.  But congratulations on your marriage, and welcome to the board!

    Welcome and congratulations! I love Paradise Bakery and you can search on their site for locations. I've heard that best cupcakes are from Sprikles, but I've tried them and I'm not really impressed and they are pricey!!! Also, I don't really eat cupcakes so.. I'm the last person to talk about them hehe. :)))

    Well, I think the BEST cupcakes in town are at a place called "Cupcakes."  The location I know of is in Scottsdale on Scottsdale Road and McDonald, not sure if they have more locations though.  Their cupcakes are FAR better than Sprinkles, no comparison!  And Fresh and Easy actually has wonderful cupcakes, the best from a grocery store!Welcome to the Phoenix board and congrats on your wedding!

    I agree, Sprinkles is over-rated!  My friend has a bakery if you're ever in the Tempe area - Arai Pastry - a japanese/french fusion.  :-)

    Thank you all! I will check out some of those places. my sister is coming down to visit for her birthday next month and is a cupcake addict so I figured I would do some digging.

    Hi, welcome and congrats!They're not cupcakes, but Nothing Bundt Cakes has PHENOMENAL little bundtlets. SO moist and the flavors are delicious.

    Hi Nathalie,Welcome to the Phoenix board, all the ladies are great on here!  Congrats no your marriage too!Well, I live on the west side too and there are not a ton of great offerings :(  For cupcakes I think Scottsdale Cupcakes and Bakery is fantastic, Barb's Bakery is another good one for cupcakes (red velvet and carrot are my favorite there)...and they have fantastic sugar cookies as well, and it you love amazing breads you have to stop by Simply Bread.
