Top Tier Cake

Anyone attempt to bring home (airport) the top tier of your cake?  Were you able to or did TSA give you the no-no?

It wasn't the top tier but we did have some cake leftover and I carried it with us on the plane.  I wasn't planning on trying to save any of it so this was a nice bonus.  It was still yummy a few days later :)

If you put it in a checked bag, it's no prob. If you take it as a carry on (just from personal experience with food) you have to take a bite/sip of anything liquid or food that you're carrying on the plane. That's how it was in the San Francisco airport, but in the LA and Long Beach airports they didn't even care. I've never tried to take a cake... but I've traveled quite a bit and that's usually what they made me do.

Thanks girls!  When I called the bakery yesterday they said that some brides weren't able to because TSA said that you can submerge the cake in flammable liquid and set it on fire after security checkpoint.  My question then becomes, can't you set ANYTHING on fire after security checkpoint?   Anyways, this makes me feel better... we'll try it and see what happens!
