restraunt suggestions?

My FI and I have our dating anniversary on friday, and im trying to figure out where to go to dinner. I would like a nice place within 30 mins that a perpetual hamburger eater like himself would enjoy,Bonus if there are things to do or look at around the restraunt.

If you're open to coming to the City then there are tons of options! If your hamburger-eating FI is open to eating meat in a different form, then you could always do one of the steakhouses on Van Ness (Ruth Chris Steakhouse, House of Prime Rib, Harris).Or, if he just has to have that burger, you could try somewhere like Townhall or Salt House - they are popular places in the financial district that I thiiiink have burgers (double check their menus), but also have non-hamburger food that you could enjoy too.Yelp.com is always another good resource for restaurants - you could search for "burger," and select the number of $$$ you want to search (for ex, probably don't select just one $ because I imagine you want to go somewhere a little classier than McDonald's for your anniversary!).Also, for a Friday night, you're probably definitely going to want to make reservations, the sooner the better.

Val's Burgers in Hayward at B Street & Central.  They have the best burgers (three sizes--baby, mama, daddy;) great fries which you must share; old fashioned milk shakes (my husband loves the strawberry all around w/hot fudge, I love the chocolate all around (chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce).  This is where you get the glass of milk shake and the stainless container which holds another glass and a half.  YummmmThey also have a steak sandwich to die for!  Vals' won Sunset Magazines Best of the Bay Area Hamburger award a few years ago.  Cash only and parking may be a problem.  Check out yelp for the reviews.Have fun wherever you go!

Val's is definately good, but they are on vacation right now until the 22nd of this month. The only reason I know is because I live a block away on Kelly st. and when Val's is closed is the only time we have parking near our house. : ] Unfortunately I don't really have any other ideas in mind, other than there is a great steak place in the city called Momo's. They are on Embarcadero right near the giants stadium. They do valet parking so you don't have to pay crazy fees (other than the valet fee) or walk a mile to get there and they accept reservations. HTH!

mlignell thanks for the info.  They were closed last week when we tried to go, but I thought it would be for one week only.  I have no other ideas.  Sorry.......keep Val's on your list for a future date though.  ;-)

Suds - NP! I am sad that they are closed. We love walking over there and getting stuff to-go when we have the cash. MMM I love their milk shakes...darn them for being closed the rest of the week. My Fi and I may have to hit them up next week when they re-open.
