any recommendations on MAUI quick beach weddings and hotels??

We are getting married in July9, 2010, in Maui. I'm doing research on what hotel to stay at and trying to find ceremony providers. It will be just the two of us, and we received a quote from a 5 star hotel but it's too pricey for what we want (quick, simple, no frills) any suggestions? Thanks! Eve

We love the Westin on Maui.  Great pools and rooms.  On the beach too.

My friends just got married in Maui at Wailea. They got married on a golf course. It was beautiful. The Marriott in Wailea is affordable, but not sure if it has facilities for an actual wedding. Their ceremony and reception were at the Seawatch restaurant. Great location and food. They also had a DOC named Gail that was on top of her stuff. She was only $800 and did almost all of the vendor referrals and coordination. Also, in S. Kihei (much more affordable) there is Five Palms. We went here for dinner before the bachelorette party and actually saw a wedding in progress. Their ballroom is beautiful and the food is great!http://fivepalmsrestaurant.com/Weddings_%26_Events.html

My mom is a travel agent in Hawaii and only handles hawaii......she is a local so that is god.  Call her 800-823-0787x265.  She has found great deals for all my friends that have gone over there.  Enjoy!!

a recommendation on where NOT to stay...my family and I were in Maui this past Christmas and stayed at the Kaanaapaali (however you spell it) Beach Hotel.  It was nice (we were in a 2 BR suite with full kitchen) but there were a LOT of kids/families (to be expected for that time, but I imagine there would be a lot in July, too).  And the gym was $10 a day.  Not what I'd want on my honeymoon, but just FYI...
