Bartender

I'm holding my reception in a small hall in Dana Point and was hoping to find a bartender with an ABC license that would let us provide the alcohol and supplies but simply bring in the alcohol for us and supply his license and insurance. I want to order a specific kind of champagne and wine but unfortunately without an ABC license we are not allowed to bring it in. Also it would save a lot of money if we could buy the alcohol ourselves and just pay for someone to serve it since only about half of our guests will be drinking. I checked with several catering places but they all said they would not be able to do that. I know that it can be done because i have a friend who did it in NOrthern California. Does anybody know a company or person that would be able to do this for me?

My wedding was there 8/29/09!! it was hell!!!!! We went through the same thing with them, well it really wasnt the hall, it more so the county!! are you aware that there is an additional $194 fee to obtain a permit for you and your vendors to have access to the premises! OK if your vendors do not have exactly what they want which was insurance and liabilty they will charge you another $100.00 somethin dollars to obtain a one day permit. for instance if your dj does not have insurance and liability not only will you have to pay the $194 they will tack on an extra amount for how many guest you have. Then came the alcohol issue with us. the bartender that we had orginally hired through a caterer refused to provide their liquour linsence since we did not purchase the booze from them. so we spoke to the county again and for additional $100.00 smrthing dollars on top of the permit fee $194 they wanted to charge us $80.00 to allow the alcohol. this all happened the night before the wedding! finally i went dow to the venue and they gave me SUNSERIS Market # they saved us from having a dry reception!! it was hell having to go through the county! jumping through the hoops, they made a quick $200 off of us just so they could provide me with a stupid piece of paper! good luck, hope your vendors have what they want other wise they will get you with soo many other fees!

Omg. I knew there would be some problems but I am using mostly vendors off the list to make my life easier. But thanks for the heads up. I will definately call that dj and try to stick to people who worked there before. I'm going to try the market for alcohol too. If I have any questions that come up is it okay for I send you a message? Thanks for everything.

Hi there Ashley I was looking on your blog, where did you get your table number cards? did you make them? They are cute! Also I am having my reception at OC Sailing and Events Center and was have the right permits etc. for my bar but they are saying no cash on site I have to host the entire bar for the event. Is this true and/or do you think we have to do that, did you see the Sheriff hanging out at your event?  Okay thankyou soo much.
