DJ Advice!

Hello fellow Kansas Brides! My wedding is 8 months from today and we have interviewed a couple of DJs but we are not really sure what we want to do.We have an option of doing our own music and using the reception hall's sound equipment or we could use a DJ.Does anyone know of a couple who did their own music and what they thought of that? I am concerned that it will be too much work to get everything coordinated or that it will just be no fun if we do it ourselves. Thanks!

Before you decide to do it yourself, check out & test the sound equipment at the reception venue. It might be great for announcements and such, but music might sound like it's coming from a tin can. Also, a good DJ won’t overcharge you just because it’s a wedding … or show up in a cheesy tux. $100 - $200/hr of play is within the acceptable & set up should be included. A light package might be extra. Since you sound like you have time to plan & a date set, check out one of the bridal shows at OP convention center. They often have a “book now” special and you can quiz them in person.
