diet?

Is it even possible to diet this close to the wedding? Im scared of gaining weight. But today was surprise bridal shower at work. FMIL took me out to dinner tonight. I have a bridal shower in the near future and bachelorette party. I feel like im gonna have to step up the work outs to keep up.

Re: diet?

  • Elaina I don't think it's too late to diet - but I am willing to bet that realistically awareness will be key enough! Basics are so important - water, activity, moderation. You will be fine!

Ive been hard core dieting/working out since January but it just seems like the closer I get..the more temptations are around. Most of that above post was sarcasm anyway...

  • Just keep things in check.  Don't go overboard at the parties and other events leading up to your wedding.

Part of my problem is that I've been on summer vacation and my diet/exercise program has gone out the window.  School starts back up for me in a week and it will be a lot easier to get on a schedule, eat right, etc.  Right now, it ain't happening.
  • I know it gets hard with parties coming up, but just use moderation.

I live by this rule when at get togethers:
    "Try everything, eat nothing."

Go ahead and sample the treats & snacks, but don't eat an entire portion of everything. Put a little dollop on your plate, not a giant plate full.

  • I agree with PPs...it's all about portion control.  Try a little bit of everything at the parties, but don't go overboard.  That way you can still enjoy yourself without gaining weight.
