Hi Ladies!  We are narrowing down our selection for the reception, and I think we're going to go with Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines (yep, we heard about the foreclosure, should be a non-issue).I'm just curious if anyone has any experience with them, either attending an event or working with them?Hope your planning is going well!  I can't believe how fast time is flying by!

    I was an assistant clubhouse manager there back in 06. Depending on the size of your crowd it is not very convenient. Guest get stuck in one of the side rooms and then they can't see you, the toast, etc. They are off by themselves. I know all the management has changed, but I don't highly recommend the place. Seems it has been one thing after another since that club opened.

    I agree with that posting, I have attending a wedding there and hated how I was stuck in the back and could not see the bridal party at all.  There was nothing to really look at where we were sitting by others at our table, who we didn't even know so it was akward.  When toasts was going on, I felt like no one in that back half was really paying attention or seeing any emotion at the head table because if you can't see it, no one pays attention.  I did really like how the dance floor was out on that covered balcony, that was really neat!
