Shore Reception Site

Hi LadiesI am helping my sister who is looking to get married next August.  She is looking for a reception site that is down by the shore...she is wants a site that has an ocean view.  If any suggestion or place that she should stay away from please let me know.  Any information would be helpful.  Thanks

Flanders can't serve alcohol :-) The White Sands in Point Pleasant Beach was okay; the staff was very nice, but I'm sure there are some people that will say the decor is horrible and some people will say it's nice. Also try the Atlantic City Aquarium. Never been there, but there are several girls on this board getting married there and it's supposed to be very nice. It really all depends on her price range. FI and I were going to have it on the beach, but decided we could skip it when we saw the price differences between beach and non-beach. LOL

Just to respond to previous post...The Flanders does serve alcohol, you just need to provide it (which can actually save you some money on drink costs). Also, I've been to the atlantic city aquarium (one too many class trips with my pre-k class), and I don't know of any part of the building that they could fit a wedding reception larger than maybe 90 people tops. And it sits on the bay, so there would be water views, but not necessarily ocean. And as far as other places go, the only ones I can give advice on would be in south jersey shore towns. There is a place in Brigantine that sits directly on the beach, Laguna Grill. My experience with the owner was not stellar, but the place is nice and they have some pretty good deals. The Grand in Cape May also has a ballroom with ocean views. The Golden Inn in Avalon might have Ocean views too... I don't remember.Oh, and I'm having my reception at the Hotel Alcott in Cape May. No ocean views, but only a block from the beach and wonderful service and packages!!HTH!! GL helping your sister!

We too are looking to get married down the Jersey shore next year.  Some of the places we looked at were Branches (no water view but great atmosphere and courtyard), Crystal Point Yacht Club, the Channel Club, the Lobster Shanty, and Ocean Place....hope it helps!

I got married at Bonnet Island Estate. It is at the entrance to LBI, not right on the beach, more on the bay, but it was absolutely beautiful. They took care of everything, I didn't have to worry about anything.

You could also try the Avalon Yacht Club. It's right in the dead center of the bay with 180 degree views of the water. They do a great job with weddings.

I'm getting married at Ocean Place Resort in Long Branch. We checked a bunch of places but this was one of the only ones in the area where we could have everything... ceremony, reception, afterparty, and hotel. There's also MErriMakers in Sea Bright, but there aren't any hotels right there and the reception room is small
