I have FINALLY convinced him that we should have 'Anyone else but you'. It's a song that means alot to us but the issue he had is that he tends to cry whenever he hears it and is worried about being a wreck on the day anyway, without adding that into the mix! It's not really a traditional entrance song but we don't care! Have you chosen one yet?
Cliche, yes, but "Pachelbel's Canon". I just love it too much not to use it. It brings tears to my eyes just hearing it!Our bridal party is coming down to "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring".
Yeah I love our choice and I'm so glad that he's agreed to it- we've been trying for ages to find a song that suits us, knowing all along that this was there but he was too worried about blubbing at the alter! My friend got married 2 weeks ago and her entrance was to Practical Magic, which was absolutely beautiful and suited the day so well. Whay kind of feel are you going for?
i'm going to walk down to "O" i wanted something different. i was also thinking of walking down to an instrumental of "something" by the beatles, but i changed my mind to "O" from the cirque show.
FI and I still have to discuss our choices, but I am really partial to "Rule the World" by Take That. It's the song from the end credits of the movie "Stardust."
I used music performed by the Vitamin String Quartet. The bridal party walked down to Yellow (Coldplay) and I walked down to In My Place (Coldplay). Our recessional was also a VSQ song, All You Need Is Love (the Beatles). VSQ are a string quartet that do a ton of cover songs, check them out.

I was considering "Your the one that I want" from Grease. The boys would go during the first verse, the girls during the second and then my Dad and I to the chorus. However, FI wasn't overly thrilled with the idea and I no real personal ties to it - just thought it was cute and fun. So instead what I am doing is having the guys already at the front. I'm a HUGE George Michael fan but none of his songs really fit. So I am going to use the organ music from the beginning of Faith as the opening. Then it will go into "You Sexy Thing" by Hot Chocolate from the Full Monty soundtrack. It is a fun, upbeat song that I love. It is also a special song for all my female guests as we all did a full monty skit in the past together - including my mom. So my girls will come during during the first verse and Dad and I during the chorus. It was much easier to pick the song that we will walk out together to. We met at Karaoke and our song was "Paradise by the Dashboard lights". We are just disagreeing on which part of the song to start it at....I want just from the beginning....he wants it to start with us walking up the isle to "We're gonna go all the way tonight"
We are doing Thank you by Led Zepplin too! We originally planned on it...then the Chapel told us we could only do their music selections...now we can do our own, so we are back to Thank you!
As Time Goes By from Casablanca. Never saw the movie, but it's the theme song to one of my favorite shows. I know you didn't ask about first dance songs, but I have to share. FI just told me that he wants our first dance to be You're All I Need by Method Man & Mary J Blige. LOL! I don't really want to have a first dance, but I might change my mind just to see the look on our guests faces.
tanyamar that is awesome, my fiancee LOVES ska music...so much so that when I come out in a horse and carriage it will be to the ska wedding march! When i actually walk down the aisle i want it to be to death cab for cutie i will follow you into the dark
I am walking down the aisle to Arioso and the processional is Se by Josh Groban. It's so beautiful and they lyrics just really speak to our hearts. I haven't quite figured out what my BP will walk down to.
Mine's in progress. I found a guy on YouTube who'd done a chamber orchestra arrangement of "Passion" from Kingdom Hearts II using digital instruments that sounds AMAZING. I contacted him about doing a similar arrangement of "Hikari" from Kingdom Hearts. We'll see how it turns out...I gave FI the CD of Vitamin String Quartet covering Foo Fighters for Valentine's Day, and told him to pick the recessional from there. He went with "Learn to Fly."
Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
I think I'm walking to Moon River by Jane Monheit (I was names after Breakfast at Tiffany's and have always loved that song.)I think the recessional song will be All You Need is Love, the Vitamin String Quartet version.
