the DJ company?

Since they have been getting such rave reviews on here, I figured I would look into them! But first I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some inside info. First off, it's important to me that a decent amount of spanish music be played at the wedding. Not overwhelming, but maybe like a 75%:25% ratio give or take. I can provide a basic list but I was hoping for a DJ that would be familiar with some songs on his own. So basically I was just wondering ifanyone seen the DJ Company in action at a wedding where spanish music was played? Or if not, do they comply well with must play/must not play lists? Also, can anyone give me an idea of ballpark pricing? I'd be interested in full DJ services plus custom lighting and maybe monogram if possible. But really any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know if I can give an accurate estimate because my needs might be different from yours.... Ryan, the guy I spoke to is really nice and gets back to you right away. He told us 1500...and we requested Portuguese music along with all other kinds, including country!! LOL we are a very diverse bunch... You might just want to get in touch with him and find out what he can do for you.

Ryan was also our DJ and he played whatever we wanted. I asked about Portuguese music for my family, which he didn't have, but he told me if I gave him a CD of songs that I wanted played he would add it to his playlist. So you would be fine with the Spanish music. You might even be able to request an MC that is familiar with Spanish music as he would know more dances, etc. When you book them, you will get a username for their website where you can go on and manage your must play, play if possible and do not play lists. That was so much fun to do. I think we paid $1,150 cash (which saved us some) for 5.5 hours (including cocktail hour), a DJ and an MC, and basic lighting. They had higher packages which included more custom lighting, so you would be looking to pay a little more for what you are looking for. HTH, let me know if you have any other questions!

Amy, I guess when Ryan said he only had some songs he was prob. referring to what you gave him, lol. He also told us we can give him anything on a CD and he will play it for us.

I don't know about Spanish music, but Alex and I have a very "eclectic" taste in music, too.  We arent dealing with Ryan (Tom is our MC); Tom asked us to give him a couple of hints on the party planner (that Amy referred to) and that he'd take care of the rest. Spanish music has such "flare" and flavor to it ... I'm sure ANY DJ can add it into the playlist, no matter who the DJ is.But take it from me, my experience over all with them (prior to the wedding) has been great!   (I'll let you know next month)And from what I read on here, they seem like a pretty good group of people!Good Luck!

Can anyone who has used them recommend their specific DJ?  I am looking for someone who is a little more laid back than your typical DJ, but will still be able to keep the dancing going.  Thanks!

Sarah -We met/hired Tom from The DJ Company.  We had Tom for two years at my company holiday party and he was great.  We basically only want him to announce our intros, dances and cake cutting, that's it.  He's totally fine with that.  We wanted Ryan, but he was already booked.  (They've been DJing our company holiday party for like 4 years)  If you haven't seen them yet, they're really good crew.  Good Luck!PS - Regarding must play and must not play lists, they are on the ball - our company has a specific list of songs that MUST be played (from inside jokes and such) and they're on it year after year!
