Alterations & Veils by Beautrice

Okay...does anyone have any experience with getting their alterations done here? I've been reading such conflicting reviews everywhere, but I haven't met a bride (in real life) that has had their bridal alterations done here. I have read that some who took their dress here ended up paying double what they were quote. That's not cool. Please let me know if you have any personal experience or if you know a friend with any? I'm trying hard to do my research, I know that lots of ladies love Nelda's and that is also an alteration possibilty for me. Bought my dress at DB, but too scared to take it there to get altered! Please help :o).

Oh, my dress only has beading going down one side that goes across my chest, no beading anywhere else. I need the sides and hips taken in, hemmed, and a bustle. Shouldn't be a lot of difficult work, but I know very little about alterations.

SO hands down this lady is expensive. I had alterations done by her last year on a bridesmaids dress. The alteration cost as much as the dress. However, she work is flawless. I couldn't even tell anyone had touched the dress. And I know the difference because I was in the same dress the yeasr previously (slightly different) and that lady jacked it up!! She also quoted my co-worker almost triple what she got hers done for at Nordstroms.

I've never used her, but I hear good things about her work.  However, as PP said, she's expensive.  I've met her, and she definitely has the attitude that she's the best in town, and that clearly shows in her prices.  I, however, think that Bonnie Harvey IS the best in town (512-836-3301), but Nelda's is also great.  And those 2 are both very reasonably priced.  Whatever you do, don't use DB for alterations.  HTH, and good luck!

thanks everyone!  keep the advice coming if you have it!  thanks abh1977 for the reassurance on DB!  i kept going back and forth because they are so affordable, but it's not worth the risk of having to have someone correct their mistakes in the long run.

I had my alterations done at Alexia Gavella and couldn't have been happier.  They quoted me after looking at it - and stuck to that the whole time.  Honestly, they were probably one of my best vendors.  My dress fit like a glove.
