Wish me luck

I am heading to yet another doctor this morning. I've been having stomach problems since last year and no one can seem to figure out what the deal is. I've done numerous tests and tried different medicines and nothing yet...so here's one more to add to the books. I just want to feel better already. God knows I don't want to deal with this for the wedding.

It is. I had the third doctor ask me if I was sure something was wrong. No I just enjoy lying on the bathroom floor in pain. Idiot.

    Good luck!

I'm not a doctor by any means, but have they checked your gall bladder?  I had stomach issues for over a year and my doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with me.  I, too, ended up on the bathroom floor in pain MANY times.   I was finally told that it was all in my head and I needed to see a therapist.  A few months later, I had a horrible gall bladder attack and had to have it removed immediately.  (Needless to say, I no longer go to the doctor who told me it was all in my head.)

I don;t believe they have checked that actually. And if they have no one has said anything to me about it. I've been checked for uclers, hernias, all kinds of stuff. I've had more endoscopies/colonoscopies than I ever thought I'd have.

<div>Maybe mention it to your doctor.  I had something called a disida scan after I had my attack and that's what confirmed my gall bladder issues.  Even after my attack, I personally had to suggest to my doctor that it could be my gall bladder (only because my roommate at the time recognized the symptoms from when her father had gall bladder issues).</div><div>
</div><div>I hear you.  I was poked and prodded regularly for over a year.  It was awful.  </div>

  • Sorry for all your pain!  I have the same issue, but I have not gone to the doctor.  Long ago I was diagnosed with IBS whcih in my opinion is kind of general.  I just ate a piece of pizza for lunch and have been doubled over in pain for the last half hour here at work.  Lovely.  I could eat the same pizza tomorrow with no problems so I can't even narrow it down to a specific food.  It's frustrating.

I really hope they can figure out what your problem is because stomach issues suck bigtime.

    Good luck!

    Here's my 2 cents.

    1) I agree with PPs. Look into gall bladder testing. I can eat some foods sometimes and not other times, like Gina said. For me it's about how much the "bad" foods add up in my system. Too saturated, and I get really sick. I don't have gall stones or anything, but my gall bladder just doesn't work as well as it should. Since more carefully watching my diet, I've been nearly symptom free for 2 years now.

    2) If you don't already, track your menstrual cycle (read Taking Charge of Your Fertility if you want more info on charting) and note when the symptoms occur. I know someone who had stomach troubles similar to mine, and she found out it was an issue with her reproductive system. She was getting sick at a certain part of her cycle each month and they may never have caught it if she wasn't charting.

    Hope you feel better soon!
  • Sorry to hear about your stomach problems. I have a friend who is going through something similar. First the doctor said she was lactose intolerant, then she had celiac, then it could be her PCOS causing her to go through early menopause. After two months on stress leave now her doctor tells her it's all in her head because her tests came back negative, aside from finding some polups during her colonoscopy. I hope you, and my friend, get some answers :/
  • Thanks ladies! The doctor told me I should hear something by Wed of next week...so if yet again they find nothing, we move on to the gall bladder.

  • Good luck.  Stomach issues suck big time.  Feel better.
  • Hey I used to have horrible stomach pain all the time too. Finally one doctor told me to try taking prenatal pills because they have so much iron. It worked!!!! I mean I couldn't track the pain to anything, food, menstrual cycle, etc. but a few days after starting prenatal pills I was cured. Just a suggestion...
