pocketfold invitations....

My aunt is making our pocketfold wedding invitations. Are you supposed to use an inner envelope with these so that you can write the person's names on the envelope? i.e. " Kevin Jones & Guest" Or do you just write it on the pocketfold somewhere? Skip it all together?

I actually have this same question my FSIL is making ours and we weren't sure what to do about this.  I really don't want to use an inner envelope but it might look tacky to write it on the pocketfold.  MY FSIL suggested just writing everyone who is invited on the outer envelope but i'm not sure.

I had this same issue when I was doing mine. What we did was we put our monogram on the belly band and one the monogram we listed the people. I originally wanted to use an inner envelope, but they didn't have one in the size I needed in ivory. There are pics in my blog to explain! HTH.

We did an inner envelope.  Personally, I just like it better for any invitation and writing on our pocketfolds wasn't really possibly with the belly band.  I also just don't really care for the idea of writing directly on an invite.

We made matted "tags" that our GM designed and I typed the guests names on it. . . . attached one 1/2 to the flap and then I used a repositionable dot gun to use the tag as a closure. PIB

We did pocketfolds and rather than write on anything, had a line on our RSVP that said "We have reserved ___ seats in your honor."  It really helped clarify the guest question and we avoided friends calling to ask about it.  If they were invited with a guest, we just put the guests name on the outer envelope too.

We used inner and outer envelopes and did the traditional addressing. If you are not going to use an inner envelope, I would just put the guests name on the outer envelope. Like pp, I specified the # of guests invited on the RSVP card to confirm. Pictures in planning bio under paper and then pocketfold invites

There isn't really a right or wrong way of doing this. If you prefer an inner envelope - go for it.  However, if you'd rather not have one (or can't find the right size), you can write the names right on the pocketfold, or you can address the outer envelope to whomever is invited.  It's really all personal taste.

We did pocketfold invites!  I received soooo many compliments on our invitation!  We did not use an inner envelople, and like a previous post, put our monogram on the outer part of the fold.  We had the Response card custom printed for each guest.  So instead of a "M_____, we had their names printed on the line.  Very personal, and it allowed us to control who would be invited.  It made tracking the Responses a breeze as well!
