Planning? Stay away from Great Bridal Expo!

Thanks to the Knot's promotion, I got two free tickets to the Great Bridal Expo in Denver yesterday. It was a terrible experience compared to other bridal shows I've been to! At the start, they want to charge you $6 for a printed sheet of your name and address--supposedly to save you time from having to enter each vendor's 'contest' individually. There weren't even that many vendors at the Denver event, so it wouldn't have saved any time. (There were no florists and no music options--both two things I still need to book). In my opinion, brides are already overcharged for so many 'wedding' expenses, that paying $6 for a useless piece of paper just pushed me over the edge.  Definitely don't pay to go to this event. Even if you did get free tickets, don't expect to meet a whole lot of vendors. It might be worth it if you're planning on getting your dress from David's Bridal, as you'll get $50 off and a chance to win a $500 gift certificate. Otherwise, this event is a waste of time.

  • I won't give out your address anyway, or your phone number. Only give out an e-mail made just for wedding stuff.
  • Yeah, ditto MissSarah.  I didn't give out my address anyway, but did give my phone number.  After numerous annoying calls from the Royal Prestige scam, I knew I had learned a lesson the hard way.  OP, sorry you were disappointed!
  • The Royal Presige/Celebrity China has been a learning experience for many. The bridal shows in my area are fabulous!  Free cake, great discount coupons, free cake, I won a $500. GC to Greenberg's, and did I mention that you get lots of free cake at my city's bridal show?
  • LOL! Is that too much to ask? A little free cake with my bridal shows? There was no bakery there either to drown my sorrows.
