After a 12 year hiatus, I'm learning the piano again.The first time around, I never learned to read the notes...I was pretty good at playing by ear)I don't want to make the same mistake this time around--can anyone recommend online flashcards or anything like that?

    I was 5 when I started playing and my teacher taught me the acronyms.Treble clef (going up) - lines were Every Good Boy Does Finespaces were the word F A C EI forget what the bass clef was, after about a year or two I had them memorized

    You know what I'd do?  Go to a used book store and look in their music book section and get a beginner theory book.  It will help you learn the clef's and the keys (major and minor), and the sharps and flats which will help you understand music better.  Definitely try that!

    I don't have any suggestions, it's been a while since I've used anything like that. But, strangely enough, I'm working on a resource guide for Music Ed majors right now, so if I run across anything cool, I'll let you know. And way to go! It's great that you're getting back into it!

    I agree with Mariah.   I'd also check the software section because I'm willing to bet there is a beginning piano software that will help you associate the keys with the notes, etc. I'm not sure what to recommend though, as I learned the old fashioned way.
