rehearsal invites?

For the rehearsal dinner, we're just having everyone back to our house and having a bbq type meal.  Any creative ideas for an invite?

Is it an indoor barbecue or an outdoor one? Is this the first event you've hosted at your home?I think it would be cute to have a picnic blanket checkerboard with ants across it (cardstock/scrapbooking paper) and the text on there.

Very cute Kristen!  It will be our first gathering at our new home.  And it'll be indoors since it's in November unless we get some crazy nice weather!Thank you!

I've been struggling with the idea if we need these or not.  Can I be nosy and ask if what made you decide to use?  Our rehearsal dinner is catered at the church in the hall most use for their reception (we aren't using for reception, but the lure of a free venue and lack of needing to travel lured us in for the RD).  TIA!

Briv- the only reason I'm doing rehearsal invites is b/c FI's entire family is from OOT.  I want to give them fair warning of what time they need to be in on Friday or the rehearsal.  If everyone lived around here, I probably wouldn't do them b/c it'd be one less thing I'd have to worry about!  lol

Oriental Trading has really cute BBQ scrapbook paper, stickers, and charms or something-they would be cute to use!

We did rehearsal invites because our RD had a meal selection and because I was tired of everyone calling me asking for the details.  :)

hmm good thoughts.  We are getting married back home (upstate NY) but are inviting our OOT guests to dinner if they are in town because of the terrible weather.  I am leaning towards doing them but want to do them super cheaply.  lol.

I made rehersal dinner invites for my wedding too :)I bought the DIY wedding invites from Michaels..ivory with gold hearts on top.  I printed them and instead of RSVP cards I made menu cards which gave the guests their meal selections.  I found a cute leaf clip art instead of bullets for the choices...super cute!  I also got brown sitck on crystals and put them in the hearts on the top.  The ink color was choclate brown which goes with my wedding theme.  Overall they are super cute and only cost about $20

I have one for 100 free regular postcards, if you want it.

Thanks, but I found holiday postcards that are oversized - 50 for $20 - so that's in the budget!  I just need to wait until we decide on the times for sure.  Thanks for all the suggestions!!!
