Durham Reception Venue - Durham Bulls

We are considering using the Durham Bulls stadium for the reception in October 2011.   Need a large venue to hold 150 people and it has to be Durham address.  Also, wanting a venue that is not the typical Duke Gardens, etc.
 
Has anyone used the Bulls stadium for a reception/event or attended one?

    Wow, I would think getting the DBAP would be pretty difficult to do.  Kudos to you if you can get it.  There is the new DBAP (the new snazzy stadium by the freeway) and there is the DAP (the older athletic park, where Bull Durham was filmed).  It might be easier to get the DAP for such an event since it's older.  

    Rigsbee Hall is right beside the post office downtown and right up the street from the old DAP and might be something to consider.  ALso, the Marriott/Civic Center is pretty popular for weddings downtown.  

    The Durham Arts Council also hosts events / weddings / receptions too, and it's a totally unique atmosphere.

    Try Croasdaile Country Club in Durham.  It's quite lovely, not overbearing or cold, and has multiple rooms you can use, including an outside option.  Their event manager, John Sluck is also super easy to work with.
