Should I get a tent

I live in Bend, Oregon where it's sunny about 300 days out of the year. I am getting married next summer in July and am worried about the heat with the elderly people. Tents are soo expensive. Do you think I need one for shade if the wedding is at 5pm??

    I would say you need some sort of shade at that time of day. It's still damn hot at 5 PM over here in the Willamette Valley. I'm having my wedding start after 7 in part because it's starting to cool off at that point.

    You might also consider providing fans and bottled water for your guests.

    If it will be in the sun, then yes.  My cousin was married outdoors on July 21st in KS and it was hot for everyone.  Tents may or may not cost that much.  We're doing one for our outdoor November ceremony (heated, don't worry!) and it will be around $1000, but that's with a discount because our catering company is also a rental company and we get a discount for doing both through them.  Just check around and play hardball!  I've been working on transportation lately and literally made a number as a quote from another company and someone came pretty close to matching it, so you'd be surprised what they will offer to get your business.

    Definitely get a tent!  You don't want the guests to roast.  Plus knowing a brides luck it will rain on that day lol.  Just to be safe I would consider getting one.  Definitely shop around first though.  And the good thing about tents is that they charge for shipping, but setup is usually included in the price.
