registry question

How far out should you start registering for things?

6 months before the wedding date is fine. You don't want to do it too early because the store might get new/upgraded items in or other things might go on sale. I think we registered in April-Wedding in September.

Brides registering at Target have had issue with returns.Bed Bath & Beyond has an awesome return policy (cash for things on your registry) and other perks. We really liked working with them.

we actually registered in early july for a september wedding. we had just bought a house and wanted to wait until we moved in to know what things we needed before we registered. i'll ditto pp. target was a pain to return things. if people didn't put it on your purchase log for your registry and/or you didnt have a gift receipt they say they wont return it. they will, but only up to $150 in those items. total, not per return. and one thing was THEIR fault. i removed it from the in store registry via the little wand scanner the day we registered and it still showed up and they couldnt figure out how to get it off. so i got two tea kettles and they didnt want to return the one until i threw a big fit about it.

I registered at Williams Sonoma and LOVE LOVE LOVE them. They are by far, the best to work with. BBB gave me problems with some returns and getting my extra 10% taken off. Also, they didn't have a lot of what I wanted in store and I had to order it and pay for shipping, blah, blah, blah. Love Williams Sonoma!

and one thing to keep in mind after the wedding that i didnt know... we got coupons for 20% off all items left on our registry. we were literally in the car on our way to go buy the sheets we didnt get and stopped at the mailbox and there was a coupon. perfect timing!
