A day late, but........

I know it's not Wednesday, but, WTF is up with some Starbucks charging extra for Caramel around the Cup and some not?!? I asked about this yesterday and was told that if you order a Caramel Frappacinno with Caramel around the cup, they aren't supposed to charge extra for the Caramel because it's already an ingredient on the receipe card. However if you order say a Mocha Frapp with Caramel around the cup, they'd have to charge you extra.......... Darn Starbucks lady charging me $ .50 extra at one place last week!!! :::::: vent over :::::::

Re: A day late, but........

  • Corporate rules are always so fun!  Especially when the employees aren't really sure what the rules are...
  • Yea, Starbucks is funny like that. They are inconsistent with how they make their drinks. I have asked for the same drink at a 3 different stores...and I swear it taste different at all 3 places! So now, I go to where they make it best, and I found that if I go to the same place ALL the time, the people get to recognize you and do the extras with out me having to pay...
  • I used to work at starbucks and I know exactly what you mean.  The baristas think they're all creative and sh!t and make up crap when the store is slow.  So when they have normal people ordering normal drinks they usually make it their way.  If you ask for it a specific way like 3 pumps mocha, 2 pumps vanilla, extra hot milk, you'll most likely get what you want.  Otherwise just ordering a drink will not be the same at every store.  Sill I know but you have no idea how many baristas I worked with that thought their recipe was better than Starbucks'.  Sorry Shelli.
  • I used to work at Starbucks, like 7 years ago, and they didn't always charge .50 for extra caramel. They had to start doing that because there were no rules or guidelines on how to deal with that request, and customers quickly caught on and started seriously abusing the whole 'extra caramel' thing. It only takes a few to ruin it for everyone!I worked at a store that was down the street from two high schools and I swear, those kids just wanted you to pour the caramel down their throats, they wanted like practically half a bottle in just their drink. The store I worked at was also down the street from the Cerritos Auto Mall and those car salesmen were the WORST! They would stand there and be like "I'll tell you when there's enough caramel." I once literally put a 1/3 of a bottle in one guys drink. I can still remember that clear as day. It was then I thought to myself "Starbucks is going to start charging for extra caramel because of you jerks." I do agree though, you can go to 10 Starbucks, order the same drink, and pay 10 different prices. It's so weird. I had a coworker who make a drink that tasted like an Almond Joy. It was deeeelicious! lol.
