Moni's Bridal...

Anyone dealing with this place? They are going to make me pull my hair out. I have ordered a bridesmaid dress through them because that is where my friend wanted them ordered together from. The problems really started from day 1 trying to order my dress over the phone....because they demanded that I come in to be measured. I told them repeatedly that I was 8 weeks pregnant and that I would be 36 weeks pregnant at the time of the wedding...so pretty much my current measurements were irrelevant. 45 minutes later...they finally let me order the dress. They have been ridiculously uncooperative with scheduling an alterations appt - and told me I had to wait until the owner (Moni) got back in the country. That is today. Today I can not get through their phone line. It is constantly busy. I've only paid for half my dress....and would atleast like to be able to pay for it in full over the phone so that someone else can pick it up for me (I live 3 hours away) - and I can get it altered elsewhere, as they obviously do not want my alterations business. HELP! Anybody get through to them recently.....or know what is going on? And if you haven't dealt with them....avoid....avoid...avoid...at all costs.

I have been there a few times shopping for bridal gowns and will most likely be purchasing the BM dresses from there. I have heard bad things about the alterations, so steer clear from them. But both times I've been there the ladies were very nice. I haven't tried getting a hold of them lately but definitely keep trying!

I am not sure what is going on with them but I am having the same issues with them. I am also getting a bridesmaid dress there. The bride bought her dress from there as well and has not had great service, our first apt with them to look at dresses went really well they were very nice and did a great job of picking dresses for the bride. In the first apt they told the bride that if she bought her dress from them and we also bought our bridesmaid dresses from them all would receive a 10% discount the bride has yet to see that discount and its 2 weeks from the wedding. So I agree they seem great at first but very disorganized and rude!

I had no problems at all. I didn't do alterations there (& wouldn't), just ordered & got my dress earlier than quoted. I dealt mostly with Cynthia. Mine came in in June.

I finally got through and made an alterations appt....but now I'm scared based on the alterations feedback from some of you....hmmmmm.... I have ordered 2 dresses from this place this year - for 2 different weddings, and both brides have experienced a very nice staff and nice Moni...until they ordered their dresses- then the customer service was non-existent and fees were tacked on. I've never heard of an alterations place charging for dress steaming...but apparently Moni does. Ugh. I don't know whether to cancel this appt or not.

Hello! I just ordered my dress from her in August! So hopefully all goes well! Everything went smooth for me. However, I already knew the dress I was purchasing, called to see what she was selling it for (searching for the best price!) and she had it, so I bought it! No complications.  That surprises me about the alterations because she talked pretty highly of her skills (which i'm sure most do)!

If I were you guys I would NOT get my alterations done by her. Get your dress and get you alterations done by someone else. unless you are ready to pay almost $400 for what moni charges.

dont do alterations at moni's! i read bad reviews about her alterations after i got my dress from there and wasnt gonna chance her messing mine up. even though she debated with me about NOT getting the alterations done there. it was like why are you not getting it done here, well who is gonna do it, she wont do it right, she dont have the training i have, i would hate for you to be disappointed in your dress. im like no im confident it will be fine, it was like ridiculous! then after i lied (well sort of) and just said im out of state is when she let it go. i didnt wanna say well i heard your alterations SUCKED! and then said that they were only gonna let me take one dress(i have 2) because i was getting alterations done. but now that i wasnt, i had to pay for both now and no check. so i said fine, whipped out my card and was like lets pay for it then! what the heck?! luckily, i already clued mom in before we went in about the bad alterations so she was right with me from the start! cynthia there was really nice, but Moni is a mess!

but does she do a good job?     I have it written on my receipt/confirmation that my alterations are only going to cost 40dollars and my bustles will be $10 each.

To be fair I'll update to let anyone reading this know that she totally kissed my @ss when I went in there (I'm guessing it was because of this post). She only charged me $30 for alterations .... which I had thought she was going to try to charge me atleast 100. I walked in asking for the alterations price list...which she couldn't produce (normal, reputable places have no problem publishing their prices). After a couple banters back and forth, she was writing up the invoice... and started to tell me it was going to be $25 for steaming and pressing...I told her I would do it myself for that price. She told me I was her "girl" and she was going to comp them. She also told me that she wasn't charging me for half of it because I felt like she hadn't helped me previously. She then made a special appt for me to pick it up today (Sunday) eventhough they are closed because I am "special". She fixed what needed to be fixed on the spot at my appt today. Again, I'm just posting a follow up to be fair. But I do not think this is typical alterations services - from past experiences and other friend's experiences. I also think that she is doing alterations under the table - and that is why she only collects cash for them - no tax. I am just glad to be done with this woman and her alterations.
