XP: Italy Honeymoon Bio/Reviews

I posted this on the honeymoon board, but since I mainly post on this board, I thought I'd cross-post this. In case anyone is thinking of an Italy honeymoon, here are my reviews and pics: http://tinyurl.com/ycl2nlg We visited Rome, Amalfi Coast, Florence, Siena, Venice, and Milan, and had a blast.

Wow amazing pics... so jealous! I'm having a Jewish wedding as well and having International String Trio (pretty sure you recommended them to me). If you don't mind me asking, what did they play during the ceremony? Was it all traditional Jewish music or did they play secular songs too? TIA!

Hey October bride- We had classical processionals, Jewish traditional recessionals, and a mix of upbeat jazz and klezmer for the cocktail hour. Processionals were Air on a G String and Pachalbel's Canon (cliche? yes, but so beautiful!). Recessionals were Siman Tov u'Mazel Tov followed by Hava Nagilah. Hope that helps! They play so many styles of music beautifully. It is tough to choose! This mix worked for us though; I liked that we were able to take advantage of the full variety they offer.

to add: we had them play classical (not nec. Jewish) music before the ceremony started.

Thanks for the info! It's so hard to pick because I love alll of their stuff. Our ceremony is taking place in a shul so I feel like I need to stay more towards the traditional Jewish music. But I would love to blend in more classical pieces. I find myself playing on their website listening to their clips for hours trying to imagine myself walking down to all of their songs... I'm driving my fi insane, ha.

I can see sticking to more traditional Jewish fare for a wedding in a shul, and I could totally see Erev Shel Shoshanim as a beautiful processional. Actually, I just googled it, and apparently it's a popular Jewish processional. I didn't know, but there you have it. :)

I'm going to keep hijacking my own thread here.. :p Octoberbride: go read the translation of the song's words on Wikipedia (unless you speak Hebrew...) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erev_Shel_Shoshanim the words are perfect! the symbolism of using that song (even though it wouldn't be sung) would be beautiful.

haha! good luck. My husband and I were terrible at making that type of decision too! the song is on trio's webpage so you can hear it easily. It took us months to choose first dance song, processionals, songs for our video, etc.

Killian, we had an amazing time!  The beaches are great, but mostly rocky, not sandy.  We stayed in the mountains in Slovenia right on Lake Bled.
