Wedding Cake from Publix or the Cake Stand in Charleston?

Has anyone used or is anyone using Publix for their wedding cake? If so, can you tell me what their price per slice is? Is the publix close enough to Historic Charleston or is it a far drive? I was also thinking of using the Cake Stand, so if you have any info on either, please let me know! Thanks again, Natalie in Miami

They cake stand is on Folly Road as is a Publix (520 Folly). Both a couple minutes from downtown. I have not worked with the publix on Folly yet but am planning on using them for my wedding simply for the fact that I LOVE their icing and I have never heard a bad thing about them. I also have heard great things about Cake Stand. I believe the cake stand may just be slightly more expensive than publix but still affordable.

Publix is a good deal for cake, It was around $300 for 100 slices. $30 delivery charge. The Cake Stand cake is good, but she nickels and dimes you. I didn't care for her attitude. Cake there for 100 was $475 plus delivery/set up fees.

I used the Publix in Park West. I absolutely loved our cake, we didn't have any left. We received so many compliments on it too. We paid about $400 but that was for delivery and set up out on IoP. We had 180 guests.

I would say the cake stand!  We wanted them but they were already booked for our date.  Publix we looked into because we're on a budget as well, but their cakes come in frozen and they just ice them and send them out.  We wanted a funfetti cake so they were out for us.
