Throw away bouquet?

I had planned on having a throw away for the bouquet toss, but I started thinking it was a waste of money. Plus, wouldn't it be much cooler to the girl who catches it, if it were the real one? What would/did you do?

Re: Throw away bouquet?

  • I didn't throw a bouquet at all, but if you don't want to keep one for keepsake purposes there's no real reason to get a separate throwaway one.

  • I agree that throwing your actual bouquet will be really hard.  No one warns you how HEAVY those things will be.  Although we didnt do the bouquet toss, we did an anniversary dance instead, I still gave the wife of the couple who had been married the longest a "toss" bouquet.  My florist just used the left over flowers from my arrangements to save some money.  I say if your going to throw something, it would be nice to have them be real.

  • I had a throw away! I had the florist use a few roses and some greens. A throw away IMO doesn't have to be anything fancy! There was no way I would have thrown mine! It was huge! 18 roses in the centre with 8 callas around the outside :)

  • I forgot about this until the other day. I am just going to grab some flowers from the grocery store & wrap it up pretty. Mine may be a bit heavy to throw or I would just throw that one.
  • We didn't do a bouquet or garter toss.  We just didn't have enough single girls to do it.

  • I made most of the flowers for ours (silk so they can be saved for keepsake).  The frist one I made was the toss one, that was my practice one.  It's a little bigger than than average but it's real cute, whoever catches it (I hope) will be happy with it :)
  • Thanks for all your help girls!
  • since most of you don't throw the "real" bouquet, what do you do with it?
  • Instead of paying for a throw-away bouquet, I just threw one of the bridesmaid's bouquet's. It was a smaller version of mine.
  • cdcook -- did your bridesmaid care about her bouquet?  I thought about doing that, but it might look selfish that I took hers to give away just so I can make a keepsake out of mine.
  • since most of you don't throw the "real" bouquet, what do you do with it?I dried it and it is now the centerpiece on our coffee table.
