Rant: What to do...

So I was all excited to do our epics last week...now that i see them, I HATE THEM!!!! Its 200 pictures of us in the exact same poses. I looked at this guys work and loved him...which is why I picked him but now Im freaking out! I kind of had that feeling when we were doing them when he said he was done i asked him to do something different and he took a couple of me on fis back and then was like good thing I got that in because the sun is going down....$250 bucks for something i couldve done myself...SO frustrated...Needless to say, I will have a must take list at the wedding!Sorry for venting!

    awww that really stinks! Who is the photog if you don't mind sharing?Definitely be sure to make a list of must take shots so you can be sure to get the variety you want for the wedding!

    I'm sorry! Did you also book him for the wedding or just e-pics?Maybe you're being too harsh about them....there have to be some that look good, right?I hated my first set of e-pics, too and am much happier with the 2nd set. Maybe try someone else? Is Ashley Coulier (sp?) still doing free sessions?

    Who's your photographer? Do you have a contract for the wedding with him/her already? Can you back out?And don't worry about venting, I would be so upset!! Another possibility is that this guy is not good at epics but is good at candid shots? They really are two different kinds of things: the epics are all posed and forced but trying to look natural, while that's really not an issue if you're doing photojournalistic or candid style at the wedding. Did you like his wedding shots?

    Oh, goodness.If you have booked this photographer for you wedding, too (as it sounds like), you need to let him know what you thought of your e-pics. As tactfully as possible, you don't want to piss him off, but he can't just get away with shooting 200+ pictures of the same pose and charge you for that.Sorry this is happening to you, and if there is any chance of outing him so other knotties are aware of his mistake, do it. If you'd rather give him a second chance, that's alright too.

    Yes I did book him for the wedding. I went and looked through all of his albums. Plus he was selected photographer of the year by the TV station. Itis called Memories By Mark in PSL.I really want to do new ones but our budget is so small that I just dont think I can afford another set. I am so sad because I was so looking forward to them. I just started crying when I looked at them. I hope hes better at weddings!

    I'd be very honest with him. Call him and tell him how disappointed you are and are concered for the wedding.. if he is a stand up guy perhaps he will offer to reshoot or at least put your mind at east for the wedding

    I agree with Alissa. At this point he owes you new ones or the greatest piece of reassurance about your wedding day.

    I agree with Alissa. Alternatively, if you can get out of it, or if you didn't put down too much for the deposit, maybe try looking for a different photog.As for being disappointed... keep your eye out for contests for free shoots. That's how I got my epics and they turned out great. You may get a chance to do something like that down the road!

    I am going to when he gives them to me. the pose is the same pose that we took pictures like the day after we got engaged and my fam surprised us for dinner. He is a really nice guy. I just dont want to piss him off and risk my wedding pics...

    I love his wedding albums so I am just going to look at that. I would look at a new photog  but fi is going to kill me. We already lost 1000 on the first photog i booked because I was nieve and wasnt thinking and sent her a deposit without a contract and when I got the contract it was nothing like I was under the impression about what it would be...So I was carefull this time and I still screwed it up.

    I'd call him. Tell him how excited you were because you love his work so much. Tell him how you feel and maybe he will do something about it? Can't hurt to try, right?

    Sorry that you had such a bad experience. Hopefully your photographer can redo the pictures for you. If not and you are tight on budget, you may be able to find a contest to enter :)

    That really sucks.  It sounds like he didn't give you much direction and a good photographer should be able to do that if the couple doesn't seem to know what to do on their own.  I guess I'd try to be honest with him and say, "I wish you would've given us more directions" and that you are very unhappy with them.GL

    I suggest you make a file with "must take pics/posses" for the wedding so he doesn't do the same pose the entire day. Do you know of any photographers that have a blog and have taken pics at your same venues? If so, print out the pics that you like and make a folder for your photographer. Maybe he's not used to doing Engagement sessions. I think you should also make a list of shoots you want in your wedding album.

    ayyy that sucks! I would def. voice my concerns to him and explain to him what your expectations are for your wedding... In the mean time, def. be on the look out for contects and free shoots  ;) GL
