Triad Hair/Make-Up

I'm in Winston Salem and don't have a hair stylist that I use regularly! Any recommendations for hair and make up people for the big day?! 

Also - anyone ever used Mary Kay for make up? I'm considering it but I don't know anyone that's used them!

    I am using Updo's out of Kernersville.  They come to you on your wedding day for hair/makeup.  They are usually at the big bridal shows, so you could check out their work there or on their website.  I've had them do my hair/makeup twice now...once for a trial run and once for my bridal portraits and I totally love what they did both times.  They are awesome at what they do!

    I can't remember where I used to get my hair cut in W-S when I lived there...if I remember I'll let you know.  A lot of people do use Updos as recommended above.  I am in Greensboro, and the girl who usually cuts my hair is taking the day off of work (at Leons) to come out and do my hair and my bridesmaids' hair, and the makeup artist from her salon is doing the same.

    As for makeup-- my mom has always bought Mary Kay, so I've used their products before.  The products are good, but the finished look will depend solely on the person applying it.  I know they will usually do a free consultation/demo so you can check them out.

    Also, I found that the Merle Norman cosmetic stores will do makeup, either at their stores (I think it was $35.00 in store, and if you bougt $35.00 worth of products, the makeup application was free).  You can also arrange for them to come to you, but the price goes up.  I *think* it went up to $50.00/person, but it may have depended on how many people were getting their makeup done.

    I go to Checkers in Kernersville, the same lady has done my hair since I was young and always does an amazing job. She will also be doing my hair for my wedding. Her name is Amy.

    My FMIL is a mary kay rep, and if you find the right lady, they do an EXCELLENT job.

    Thanks! I'll check them out. I'm about to go to a local HS and ask girls where they get their hair done for prom!!
