I think I have all the ingredients to make some sugar cookies on the fly, but the recipes I see all say to roll them out (for cookie cutters). Can I just make little balls instead of rolling and cutting the dough?
Yep, roll into little balls, Flatten with the bottom of a glass (they wont cook evenly if you dont flatten it to basically the same thickness) and dip in sugar (if you like it like that).
My mom used to use a highball glass (one that went straight up like a cylinder). They were definitely lighter than a 2 liter bottle and longer than most cans. Also, they are usually about the width of a rolling pin which I think made it somewhat easier to control.
No, I have a rolling pin and a cookie cutter but was feeling lazy earlier and just wanted to shove them in the oven. The dough is chilling now, I think I may try to roll them out anyway :P We'll see.

Husbands should be like Kleenex: Soft, strong, and disposable.
