Hey everyone, im Katie! im a newbie here, and im just starting the planning for our big day and already tryin not to lose my mind haha.  just wanted to drop in and say hi!

    Hi KatieFlygirl09, I'm somewhat new too. This is a great resource for everything wedding. The girls on here are all really fun and supportive, not to mention they are full of great ideas. Enjoy!

    thanx for the welcome! so here goes lol....my better half and I have been together for going on 4 years now, and in the last 2 of those we've been from one side of the country to the other with the army.  We actually tied the "knot" almost 2 yrs ago, but as most ppl know, we didnt have the financial means for anything more than a JP ceremony, and we've been planning to make up for that ever since.  We finally decided to go for it and to have the "wedding we never had", we'll be renewing our vows with a full ceremony and reception and everything next year! we're only a few weeks into the planning, and could use all the help i can get!!!

    Welcome! One of our gals (Champagne Supernova) just got married recently and they were in a similar situation in that they're both in the service so didn't get to have their big wedding and did it as a vow renewal.I think the beginning is the best part because you get to browse tons of ideas but without a date set yet, you don't have super-pressure yet! Enjoy it while it lasts!

    lol we have our date set for 09/25/2010, and we're pretty sure we've decided on a venue but still looking a bit.  right now ive been tryin to decide on BM dresses, but keep gettin hung up on the issue of wanting to make sure we find something that the girls wont kill me for LOL!

    Katie - we're EXCELLENT at giving suggestions! :D So our standard questions: what's your estimated guest list count? What are your colors? What is your style (casual, formal) or theme? What are you looking for in a venue?If you have your BP picked out already, you could ask them to help look and make suggestions of things they like. I only have 2 attendants and I'm just giving them this criteria: no sleeves, length around the knees, preferred a light material like chiffon, etc but least important, and then colors.

    KSTorkko, we're planning to keep it close to 60, mostly family and close friends, and they'll all be traveling out here from back home in TX.  with the colors, we're going with gold, ivory, periwinkle, and light green.  we're going semi-formal, but he and I both want to incorporate a ocean theme into it somehow since the venues we're looking at are right on the waterfront in seattle.  We've been bouncing back and forth between the Columbia Tower Club or the Sorrento Hotel, but we cant decide.  As far as the BP dresses go, im having 3 girls, MOH is his sister, who i absolutely adore, but shes back home in TX along with the other two so its been a bit tough trying to find designs that they would like and could all wear.

    Welcome! Your colors sound really pretty. My favorite place to look for inspiration is the snippet and ink blog. She can combine all kinds of things that I never thought might work.

    ok so we know we're having the wedding in seattle, and we've got one location that we really like, the Columbia Tower Club, but we've also got a few others that we like (the Woodmark Hotel, the Edgewater Hotel, or the Sorrento Hotel...or POSSIBLY the Fairmont) and could totally use some suggestions!

    Hello & welcome!  ChampagneSupernova just had her vow renewal last month after being married for 5 years - similar situation, small quick ceremony with no friends or family prior to being sent overseas courtesy of the Army, so they finally got to have their day with their loved ones.  Don't worry about the details, it'll all fall into place slowly but surely.  :)

    god i know how that feels lol, we had none of our family there or anything either, just some buddies of ours from his unit, so we're so excited that we'll have everyone there with us this time.  And i am SOOO glad that i found some other women to talk to about all this lol, i dont have many female friends out here yet, so im thankful that ya'll are here for me...thanx!!!

    Welcome Katie!! I second that- all of the girls here have extremely helpful ideas and vendor recommendations, plus are very supportive of one another.Im still a newbie too, i scanned the boards for a while but only just posted for the first time a few days ago and already feel the love and excitement ;) How romantic that you are finally getting the wedding you've always wanted! Happy planning! I love the color idea- very ocean and elegant.
