KC Florist

I'm looking for advice on florists in the KC area and I really need them to be cost-friendly.  Any tips?

Do you have a Florist already? I'm using Amy from Victorian Gardens and she's been really great to work with. I'm getting a TON for the amount I'm paying, which isn't much in comparison to other Florists. Definately look online to find out what's in season according to when you're getting married bc if you're wanting flowers that aren't in seaon, they'll be more expensive.

Have you thought about using Costco? A lot of times their flower merchandiser can get you in season flowers at a much better price. We're using Carole Brotherton from the Overland Park store. Let me know if you'd like her information!

I'm using Clara from Clara's Flowers.  I have my final appointment with her on Monday and so far have been very satisfied.

www.jennifersflowersandevents.com is who I am using. After my initial consultation, my budget went down $500 (!!) so I went back to her. She was able to make suggestions to get the cost down but still keep the same look of the bouquets (like using a cheaper, but similar-looking style of rose). I did pick out-of-season flowers but she didn't try to talk me out of what I wanted, she worked hard to keep the look I wanted on a budget. Also, she has a lot of cool rhinestone/pearl/etc. embellishments that she makes herself and I'd never seen anything like them before... so if you're into that, she's a great choice.

I used Costco for my white hydrangeas and they were perfect! I hired a lady to tie the bouquets and everything turned out great. I Paid $172 for 60 stems. You wont beat that!

I had a really hard time with florists.  Definitely do not use Paige from An Ecclectic Stem as she never sent us a proposal after repeated calls and emails.  I really liked Brian at Bergamot and Ivy (in Westport), but we decided on Craig Sole Designs (Overland Park).  He was just way too creative and experienced.  I can't say he is necessarily inexpensive, but he's so creative that he can help you find ways to save I'm sure.

I will second Erin Volante as a WONDERFUL florist!  The first time I saw my flowers on my wedding day, I cried.  They were sooooo beautiful.  Not only were the flowers gorgeous, but she was really fun to work with!  She's really creative with her design and choice of flowers.  I just loved her... she was my favorite vendor and we actually really liked ALL of our vendors.  So, give her a look.
