Newly Engaged

Hi I'm new to the boards. My fiance and I just got engaged 9.19.09 (nice date to remember). I'm looking forward to the planning but it will probably be a long engagement. My mother is already driving me crazy though, as expecting being the first one to get married. Looking forward to getting some great advise. -Al

    i totally recommend a short engagement! less time to stress! i tell that to everyone, and no one believes me, ha! my mom drove me crazy in the beginning. i just wanted to enjoy being engaged, but she wanted to start planning everything right away, and she knew best! things got better. there are definitely lots of really exciting once in a lifetime things, like wedding dress shopping! enjoy it all!

    Congrats on the engagement.  I just got engaged this year in May and we set a date for 2012.  You have to think it's your day and the length of the engagement is your choice on whatever works best for you.
