Vendor Reviews

I always appreciated vendor reviews and so here are mine hopefully they'll be useful to another bride. You can email me cooke09 at gmail dot com if you have any questions. Hair (Monica Maith) - A+ She did a wonderful job and was always flexible to my ever changing ideas. Would highly recommend Make Up (Monica Cook) A+ She was on time and patient when the bridesmaids were running late for the appointment. She was a delight to deal with and did a fantastic job. Everybody looked great and the make up was still there 12 hours later! Highly recommend Ceremony Music (Antares Musicians) A+ I dealt with Tammy and she was professional and quick with the email replies. The string trio played during mass and we got loads of compliments from our guests at how beautiful the music was. Highly recommend. DJ (C&J Entertainment) B Ok, the music was great and the DJ was on time, but we had given them a list of songs we wanted played and they only played maybe 5 out of a long list. I understand they can never play every single song from the list, but I had hoped they would use it at least a guideline to the type of songs I wanted played. Bottom line is, i didn't hear any complaints but it would have been nice to hear some of my favorite songs played. Bridal Salon (Bridals by Elena) A I found my dream dress here and both Elena and Katya were great to work with. Would recommend. The reason I did not give them A+ is because they called to change my appts both times I had my fittings. A small nuisance since I had asked to have off from work for both days. Flowers (Divine Designs) A+ Nothing but wonderful things to say about Colleen (owner). She worked with our budget and didn't miss a beat when I kept changing the design/flowers. Highly recommend Linens (Select Events) A+ The linens were gorgeous and the sales lady was great to work with. Highly recommend. Lighting (Perkins Productions) A It was very difficult to get a reply with email, a lot easier with a phone call. Their portfolio was great and I was  never concerned with the sort of work they'd do. The lighting created a wonderful and warm atmosphere of the ballroom. Would recommend. Photography (Borrowed Blue) A+ Natalie and Jamie are one of my favorite vendors. Extremely professional, kind and great chauffeurs! There was a mix up with the limo and we ended up with no ride back to the hotel (my husband's fault) after taking photos in Federal Hill Natalie and Jamie were more than happy to give my husband and I a ride back. Limo (Zbest) B At first they were great, and then three days before the wedding, they called us to say that they've upgraded us to an SUV limo. I kindly declined as a specifically remember choosing to NOT go with an SUV limo as it didn't have enough head room and I've often heard it doesn't drive comfortably at all. So I kindly say thanks, but no thanks, we'll stick with the original decision and they proceed to tell me "well we're not sure if we can get you your original request". This of course ticked me off because we've already paid the balance in full and we have a contract which stated what we're getting. To make a long story short, DH had a chat with them and we got what we had wanted. That being said, the driver was professional and on time. Videography (Blue Sky Films)- TBD We have yet to receive our video but I will say that so far I have no regrets hiring them. Our videographer, Neil was great! It took him minutes to reply to my questions and he was just an overall great vendor to deal with. Really looking forward to seeing our video.

And saving the best for last:Reception (Marriott Hunt Valley Inn) A+++++I would recommend this venue in a heart beat to any bride. We worked with Delynn Powelson and she was absolutely fantastic. She's the catering manager and also acts as the coordinator. I would advise any bride to save their money on a DOC because Delynn did everything. She knew what needed to be done and how even before I told her. I would HIGHLY recommmend.

Funny thing about Zbest...I had the upgrade to the Excursion...didn't want it.  They must have overbooked on the 19th.  That is so ridiculous...among other things.

Question if you don't mind answering: You don't have to say a specific amount, but about how much is a ballpark for lighting?
    TEST

Glad you had a nice day! Those damn limo companies...I swear, every time I read vendor reviews, if there's a bad one it's guaranteed that 9 times out of 10 it's the limo company!! Can't they try to make at least one person happy?! :)

Thanks for the reviews, 2have2hold.  I was also curious how much lighting was (ballpark is fine).  My venue (Tremont Grand) says it comes with uplighting, but I'm not exactly sure what they mean by it.  My email address is amberb19 at hotmail dot com.
