planning my CNY wedding from KY

I live in Kentucky and am trying to plan my wedding to take place near Rome, NY. I grew up in Rome, but moved away about 15 yrs ago and cannot even think of any places to have the wedding or reception, bakeries, and other services. We plan to have about 100 people attend, with 3 attendants each, and prefer it to be fairly casual. Any suggestions or ideas would be sooo helpful!! Thanks in advance.

I am in a wedding next friday taking place in Rome! I know the reception is at the Beeches conference center. I can get more details next week and let you know as far as cake, flowers etc.

I planned my wedding in Rome, NY from Cincinnati! I can definitely help with a ton of recommendations. My reception was at Turning Stone but it's not very casual. If you go down a few posts you can see some of my recommendations for vendors. The post is titled "READ THIS"Please feel free to ask me any questions! You can email me if that's easier- Emily2me at gmail dot com.

I'm also a Rome bride! We're having our reception at the Beeches. There is also Dibbles Inn, The Fanklin Hotel, Turning Stone Casino. A friend of mine is getting married on a golf course in November (PineCrest I believe is the name of it). We're getting flowers from Olney's. There aren't too many flower shops in Rome, but you could do a search on google for utica area florists. PriceChopper also does flowers, but they were more expensive (surprisingly!).I don't know about cakes. I'm still searching for a baker myself. There is one lady (called the Cake Lady) that was highly recommended to me, but she only does summer weddings. Let me know if you would like her contact info.As for DJ's, the only one I could really find is DiscoveryDJ, but I don't know anyone who has used them? Anyone have any refereences for him?

Teugega Country Club is in Rome they have nice receptions there. Also, the Rome and Community Center is a cool setting for a wedding. I am getting Married in Utica and planning mine from out of state as well. We are using Coriale flowers out of utica and they are very reasonably priced.

My wedding is in Rochester --  but I decided to hire a planner.  You may want to think about that!
