Oh psychology.

I just wanted to let it be publicly known that I LOVE that I changed my major.  I've been taking my psych classes (summer classes started this week and they're already kicking my butt so that's why I haven't been posting as much) and I am having so much fun.

I finally feel like I'm getting smarter in school instead of just going to class like I did in my previous majors.

And get this: even the BIOLOGY excites me.  And I hate biology. and chemistry. and physics.

Maybe this was the big change I was getting ready for.

One of my majors in undergrad was psych - it is hard not to find something in the field that interests you. Learning about human behavior is really fascinating and incredibly useful in a variety of careers - as well as life :)

    Enjoy your classes!!

I lurved psych in school! I took a bunch of courses, even tho I was a PoliSci/History major and I didn't need them.  It's such an interesting subject...there's always something to sink your teeth into!

I'm glad you're  enjoying it so much, Narwhal! What do you plan to do with it when you're done?

You know, Paige. I don't really know. I know I'm going to grad school. But I haven't decided.  I wanted to do marriage counseling when I first decided to switch. Then I was thinking about maybe doing more clincial stuff.  Then I thought about just social work.  Now I'm thinking about something more like psychiatry, med school.

Who knows! I know it will work out though.

Psychiatry might be really interesting to study especially if you enjoy puzzles and trying to decode things. But any direction you take sounds like it could be very fascinating. I watched a show on the history channel the other day about wild children and the effects of having nothing but animal interaction during the "formative" years. It was amazing to see how those children who were severely neglected for so long had permanent cognitive defects.

I liked psych when I took it. Now I hate it. BF has been working in the clinical field and is now doing his PsyD. I swear sometimes he's just messing with my head. Or I may just be paranoid. Who knows.

On a more relevant note, though, glad that you're feeling happy about the switch. It's a beautiful thing to feel fulfilled in your academic and career choices.

If I can help somebody as I travel along, then my living shall not be in vain. Glad I could help, Paige. Tongue out
