Ladies advised to wear flats/wedges wording?

With my invitations I'm adding a reception card. On it I would like to suggest the ladies wear flats or wedges because they might sink in the grass with heels. How would I word it?

Re: Ladies advised to wear flats/wedges wording?

  • I wouldn't bother.  As long as people know it's going to be an outdoor wedding, they should be able to plan accordingly.

  • I said something like "The ceremony and reception will be held outside on the lawn. Please dress accordingly."
  • I would just spread the word that the wedding is being held outside. People should catch on =) GL!
  • I would add wording that it is on a lawn, because outdoors does not necessarily equate to on grass, as it could be on a patio... I like what one of the girls above wrote.. something about being on a lawn and dress accordingly. I didn't even think of it until my FMIL mentioned that her heels might sink, when I thought of myself, and went out and got wedges, as mine is outdoors 1/2 on a lawn 1/2 on a patio. Hope that helps!
  • On our invitations (in the place where you put the location) we put:In the family meadow123 Our AddressVermontWe also posted something on our wedding website, and I told the major ladies in the family and they spread the word.  As far as I know not a single woman wore heels (some had wedges).  We had a flip-flop basket just in case and only had 3 pairs taken!

  • I plan to tell people to wear comfortable shoes.... the wedding ceremony will take place outside in a grassy area or something like that...
  • We wrote "The ceremony will be outdoors and on grass, weather permitting. Please dress appropriately." Anyone who wasn't sure what that meant i informed them that it would be a bad idea to wear heels and they should probably bring a jacket since it's october! no one seems to mind!Good luck!
