Online Wedding Dress Shopping?

Hey Knots...

So I have been surfing the web, just browsing various dress styles and I came across this site called Simply Bridals. Going by the reviews and what I see, this site seems really legit. Do anyone recommend online dress shoping? If not where can I find inexpensive bridal shops?

Thanks.

Re: Online Wedding Dress Shopping?

  • No. For many reasons, one being that it is imperative you try a dress on before you buy it. I have heard of girls choosing a dress that they have tried on in a salon and then getting ithe same actual dress cheaper elsewhere (as in they choose a Mori Lee and actually get a Mori Lee) but in this case the dresses are being handmade and there is no way to know how it will look on you. There are other better ways to get an inexpensive dress. Start with David's Bridal. There is a consignment shop called Anonymously Yours also.
  • I bought my dress online and have a few tips if you decide to do the same.  I think that buying online can be a great, inexpensive option as long as you're careful about it.

    (1) Go dress shopping in person before buying online.  I bought my dress online before I had tried on anything.  I went traditional dress shopping afterwards to make sure my online purchase was the correct choice. Going dress shopping in person changed my idea of what I wanted in a dress (although luckily I still loved my online purchase after I went shopping).  I think I would have been more confident about my online purchase if I had tried on wedding dresses beforehand.

    (2) Be sure that your dress can be returned.

    (3) Take it to a wedding dress alterations place within the timeframe for returning the dress to be sure it can be altered.  You don't have to actually get it altered at this point; I just wanted to get a professional's opinion about whether the dress could be altered to fit me before I was stuck with the dress.

    Good luck with everything!
