Getting in Shape

AW: 3 days and 3 lbs!

I just started the medifast program on Tuesday and I am already down 3 lbs, I am SO happy. I know the first week weightloss is always the largest, but on average its 2-5 lbs per week and my mom dropped 60 lbs in 6 weeks. I can finally make my 33 lbs by Jan 1 goal.... 3 down, 30 to go :)

  • man, did i say 60 lbs in 6 WEEKS? I meant months its a calorie/carb/fat controlled "mail order" diet- it brings your body into mild ketosis so that its burning fat reserves rather than carbs so you have tons of energy despite the very low calorie intake (800-1000). there are people that stay on it for months and months an dlose like 100-200+ lbs. They fortify the products and you also eat veggies and a large serving of lean protein daily. on average its about 850 calories, 25 grams of fiber, 90 grams of protein, and about 80-85 grams of carbs. apparently the right proportion of cals, fats, protein brings your body into this state. Pretty much everyone would feel soooo hungry on 800 calories but after a few days, people lose it and it doesn't come back until you cheat and knock your body out of ketosis. pretty cool
  • Congrats! I haven't been to the gym in like 2 months.. too much homework! I could go now I suppose... naaah.3 lbs is a great start though!
