Cheap DJs?

We're planning on a laptop/ipod type reception but want to have an idea of what DJ's generally cost to know whether it's worth the trouble to do it ourselves. So please let me know the cheapest DJ you could find! Akron/Canton area please. And please, please do NOT say the DJ Crew. I have had nothing but bad things to say about them anytime I have seen them. Plus, they are not cheap. Thanks!

We booked the Beach Boyz in Cuyahoga Falls.  He wanted a lot but I asked him if he would offer the same price that he offered a friend and he said he would and then took off another 100 for our wedding being on a Friday.  Another one that I've heard good things about would be JohnnyVDJ.  He was about 100 cheaper than the Beach Boyz but went with them b/c that's who did my cousins wedding and knew they would be good.

Oh and if you have an entertainment book there's coupons in there for DJ's.  I don't know how good they are but they'd be about 500 for the night.

It depends what you are looking for but we decided to not use a traditional wedding DJ, we are using a Club DJ that if well known in Cleveland area if you are intersted in his contact info email me at erica_aaronwedding at hotmail.com

Pretty much any DJ will travel. Music On The Move or First Request are in the $500 range.

When I saw the subject line I actually clicked it to suggest the Ipod thing, lol. I say go for it. One of our buddies was going to DJ for ours, but even with the "friend discount" it's just cheaper for us to do it. The only costs your looking at is to rent the sound equiptment, unless you already have some that would work. We're actually not even having an Ipod... I just have a couple mix CD's that I'm creating just the way I want. I can have just the amount of slow songs I want, when I want them, mix the genres I want together how I want them. It's actually a relief to me to know the music will be exactly what I want. :)

check out Unlimited Music Productions.  For our July wedding this past summer we paid $1000 from 6-11.  They had EXCEPTIONAL service and they kept everyone on the dance floor all night long.  They listened to what we wanted but more importantly what we DID NOT want and they made sure that we -the bride and groom- were happy before they took any guests "requests".  www.umpdj.com Louie and Gloria are the owners - tell them that Jakob and Valerie Kern reccomended you to check them out.
