  I don't have a recommendation as far as the type of instrument, but I've heard good things about the Music To Go program at the SF Conservatory of Music. Good luck!

  My daughter is getting married 10/3 in Napa. We have hired Eloquence String Quartet! They are fabulous! We hired them through GigMasters.   Harpists are wonderful, but there is just something special about  the sound of  a string quartet!Good luck and happy planning! Congratulations also!

  I like string quartets better, and I LOVED our string quartet who not only was very affordable but also incredible! Exeter String Quartet based out of Oakland.

  We are having a vineyard wedding as well and hired a string trio. We are using an Elegant Touch of Strings. They have really good prices and don't charge a travel fee (alot of musicians charge mileage including the conservatory.)

  My brother and SIL used Camellia String Quartet based in Sacramento. http://afwpi.com/camelliastring/index. htm They were lovely and very professional. Funny part is that when I was there, someone from the quartet came up to me and I realized it was my old orchestra teacher from Middle school. It was crazy, but really nice seeing her again.
