Elaine Morgan - Christening Gown

I just had Elaine make my son's christening gown from the train of my wedding dress, and she did an amazing job for a VERY reasonable price! It's "heirloom quality," which means that it has seams that can be let in or out so that it can be worn by our other children down the road. We designed it together, and it only took about 2 weeks from start to finish.It made me sad to cut my dress, but I was happy to have it do something other than sit in my closet! Just wanted to share in case anyone is interested in doing something similar.Happy planning!

That's a great idea, and something your family will cherish for many years to come.There was a family at my church who did this. The one daughter got married and had a baby, and the other daughter was supposed to be the godmother. A month before the baptism, the daughter that was supposed to be the godmother was killed in a car accident- it was so sad. They took her wedding dress and had it made into the christening gown for the baby. The grandmother/mom said that it was such an awesome, healing experience- it helped her move on, and the baby still had her aunt there with her, only in a different way.I think it's such an awesome idea!
