...save-the-date!  This is the next big project I need to work on and I'm not sure what information needs to go on them.  Just names, wedding date, and location?  Does this include just the name of the city or the ceremony/reception venues as well?  I think I'd also like to include room block information.  What else?Thank you!

There is a picture of mine in my bio I believe. We just did large magnets from MagnetStreet.com and included our names (first and last), picture, date, city, and state. I made a separate card with hotel block information. HTH!

Mine is in my planning bio below under "All Things Paper." I included the date, the ceremony and reception venue, and the hotel block info. HTH!

PIB, under STDs and Invites. We opted for just the city and state, not the ceremony location or hotel info.  HTH!

That isn't ours (obviously), but the sample of the same magnet that we used. In place of the wedding website, we just put Pittsburgh, PA. Short and sweet. :)

Thank you, I will check out all the bios!I didn't even think about a wedding website yet.  Should I have one created before I send out STDs?

I don't know about the website question. I'd say that it's a good diea to have one before you send it out if you are going to include directions or something there. It might help people know things before having to ask you. But then again, I didn't do a website, so who knows. I'm invalid. :P

For those of you who didn't use postcards, did you do calligraphy on the envelopes for address information?

No calligraphy. Just nice hand printing.

We actually mailed ours with Christmas cards - just normal handwriting.  :)

I dont have a pic of mine but it just had our names, the date, the location (Pittsburgh, not the actual places) and then our Web site.I just addressed them in normal handwriting.

You all might not have an answer to this, but... FI and I both have really, really terrible handwriting.  Like, illegible.  Would it be weird to hire someone to handwrite all the addresses for STDs?  Or should we just ask our moms, who have lovely handwriting?

I didn't do calligraphy- just my (semi)nice handwriting. PIB of mine- simple magnets, just our names and the date. I didn't think to put our locations on, but it's a good idea.

Ask your Moms. No need to hire/pay someone. I bet many people would be willing to help (i.e. at work, friends...).

I'm cheap, but I'd ask someone to help - either the moms or a group of friends to have an addressing party.  :)  If you want to hire someone (sometimes it was easier than dealing with OOT people, etc) then I would ask on the Chicago board if they have recs - or maybe one of those knotties who does calligraphy would do it for a reduced price?

I have horrible handwriting and my parents didn't offer to help, so we printed all of the addresses using my home printer. We used a pretty font and it looked great!

Thats our next big project too. FI has awesome handwriting, and I have what I call horrible little kid handwriting. FI doesn't have the patience (or time) to do our hand addressing so (gasp) we're planning on doing the clear printer label thingys. I'd say ask a family member or friend. But I'm cheap too. PS - We don't have a wedding website (and I doubt we will) which is funny bc FI is a designer.

Mine are in my planning bio (http://sites.google.com/site/morganphdplanningbio/). I have nice handwriting, but I didn't want to write the addresses all out myself. We printed all of our addresses using our printer, in a nice font. Finished in about 30 minutes. We also did this for our invitations (GASP!) - using the same font as the invitations, escort cards, favors, programs, etc.
