Not sure what other colleges are experiencing cutbacks and what types.I love a day off from class but I am pissed I had to pay more for it and get less instruction!  Then there's the issue of having more than one class and the professor's having different furlough days.  It's going to suck.  I feel bad for the professor's.  they ended up with about a 10% pay decrease because of it.  Oh and they cut 400 classes for the year I think.  WTH?!  So, I guess I will graduate in 2017.

I graduated from there and know a lot of students that are still going there and they are not very happy about it. But the goods news is better a day off then a cut in the programs. Like your major or them getting ride of teachers that know what they are doing.

My husband is a professor there (part time). He got a pay cut, but felt bad that the students had to pay more. We're still paying our school loans! Good luck.

Thankfully they didn't cut any of the programs or have to let anyone go.  Bad thing is they cut classes...you know the first to go are probably evening classes which are the ones I attend.

When I was there I attended those classes too. I played for the womans soccer team so waking up early was never on my schedule. My fingers are crossed they keep the night classes open.

ugh it pisses me off that our tuition went up and we get less! that just doesn't make sense, i feel robbed.  I'm glad that at least our school shuts down all at the same time.  my cousin at cal poly said his teachers all pick their 2 days off which gives him random holes in his schedule all quarter.

Well, it would have been nice it the cordiated the furloughs a little more. Like have one whole department take a furlough the same day. None of my professor's furloughs fall on the same day as another. So, even though I don't have my 9:20am class, I still have to be there at 8am for my 8am class. It also does suck that we are paying more and getting less. I feel bad for the professors. 10% pay cut is pretty hefty.

Today is my first day with a furlough.  So I only have 1 class.
