crap. crap. crap. We hit the snag...

We had a local ice cream place booked to serve an ice cream sundae bar at our wedding. This was my favorite detail that I was most looking forward to. There were tears tonight for the first time. Just found out the went out of business and we can not locate them. So we are out our $$$ and now we have no dessert. It was a long process to find them to do what we wanted in the first place because FI and I are very picky when it comes to dessert.... we basically only like ice cream and they did it for a WAY better price than everywhere else. crap. crap. crap.

oh no! I'm so sorry that this has fallen apart. Do you guys have any other options for ice cream? You don't need this extra stress right before your wedding! I hope you are able to come up with a different solution. Knottie vibes!

Awwww....I'm so sorry to hear that!  That totally sucks, especially because you're out $$!I've hit quite a few snags myself lately, and I just keep reminding myself....at the end of the day, I'm going to be married to FI and that's all that matters.So....at the end of the day, you will be married to the man of your dreams, with our without dessert.  And, you'll have a lifetime to enjoy ice cream together ;)

well that's a giant bummer.  can you contact the BBB and see if they can help? did you pay with a card? you should be able to file a claim if you did to get your $$ back.  good luck! i hope it works out.

Thanks ladies. I am exploring my options tomorrow. Unfortunately it was (of course) one of the only vndors I paid by check- not sure why. I'll keep ya posted. :)

It's a long shot but depending on who your bank is, you may be able to get your money back since you did pay by check. You have a record of them cashing it and if you have some way to prove that they went out of business (email, etc.), the bank should help you out...at least a little. I had a similar, although non-wedding related, issue with a company last year. I bought the new Photoshop program from an online company, they of course took my money and I never heard from them again. I had to wait about a month but the bank refunded my money to me. It's worth a shot.

Thank you Mandalay- I will check it out. I tracked down her cell number from the building owner, but she changedher number of course and is not listed. I will have to look into it and call my bank. On the other hand, the crisis has been averted and we found another vendor- Glacier Ice Cream from longmont. It is definitely more than we were originally paying, but We got a great deal considering the situation and was extremely understanding and helpful! She even offered not to have us paya deposit or anything until the day of since we lost our previous deposit. We of course didn't do this, but it was a nice gesture. Yay!!!
