"Will you be my Bridesmaid"Gift Ideas?

Hi All!So, all of my future bridesmaids live out of state.  Though, I haven't officially asked them to be my bridesmaids... I was thinking it would be a cute idea to send them all something small...kind of officially asking them to be my bridesmaids.  I'm not sure if anyone has heard of anyone doing something like this before, but I just thought it would be cute...now, if I could only think of something to send!  I guess I thought of this because when one of my close friends got married, she took us all out to lunch and asked us and since I can't do something like that....the idea of mailing something came up. Any ideas??

I did this! I actually had some REALLY cute cards custom made from someone on Etsy, my fiance had some made to match for his groomsmen! They were cute and everyone LOVED them. If you want more info e-mail me at tnm41189 at gmail dot com

I did this too!  FI sister lives OOT and I wanted something to give to everyone, so I found these cookies that they custom make with the girls names and a little saying on them.  The website is www.weddingstand.com they were only $10 too!  I thought that was pretty reasonable.  HTH!!

Thank you so much for the ideas!  I'm excited!  :)  Oh wait...how soon did you mail them out?  We are getting married next Oct. (1 year from now).  Would it be too soon to send them at the end of the month or November?

I was going to do this, but then I got way too excited and ended up asking both my best friend and my sister (I'm only having two) over the phone. What I was going to do was make a card and find a REALLY ugly dress in a magazine, or draw one myself (I did some sketches) with big frilly bows and rainbow colors and animal print...you get the idea. Anyway, I was going to make a joke like "Will you be my bridesmaid" and then on the back say something like "Even if I make you wear this dress?" or "Don't worry, I wouldn't do that to you!" Kinda weird, I know, but yeah, anyway...Good luck and congrats!

I did something like this for mine.I've heard of things that PPs have said, too. Things I considered:gourmet cookies with names/asking on themchocolate "dolls" with BM dresses onHand painted glasses (wine, martini, shot, etc) with their name or askingPersonalized cardsWhat I ended up doing was getting a tank that said "Bridesmaid" for all of them, handmade the cards with a poem and then included an insert of when/where to get their dress. There's a pic in my blog (linked at the end of my siggy).Good luck! I know my girls loved this and it's a fun way to get them involved early on.

I did this too! :)I made my BM's cards that were personalized and also gave them body scrubs that I found on Etsy. I know someone who did the cookies though - those are way cute!

I did cute cards with personalized poems...well partially personalized and partially stolen from the web.All of my BMs were out of state too. While I wouldn't have had it any other way and I love them all dearly....it's tough not having them around! I think that because they are far away it will mean the world to them that you are doing something special to ask them!

I used a company called Greeting Card Universe to make custom cards for each girl with a poem I stole off the Internet (lol). I gave the cards to them with a framed photo of us together and a book on how to be a bridesmaid. This was both of my BMs first time being in a wedding so they didn't take the book the wrong way, but I wouldn't give that gift to someone who has already been a BM a few times.
