I am happy I went but I'm a little discouraged. First my BFF and I went and checked out Crestmore Manor in Riverside. Fell in love with the pictures online, fell even more in love seeing it in person. The lady was very good with the tour, mentioning all the details that I would have forgotten to ask. The one question that I did ask was if they did military clauses in their contracts, and she said no! I was not expecting that. She said because the property is owned by the county; I don't know what that has to do with it but that's what she said. Then we looked at dates for next Oct and looking at Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, they only had one day, a Sun., in Oct. left. They had 2 days at the end of Sept, a Fri and a Sun. And THEN, she started telling me how horrible military life is, and that the divorce rate is sooo high and you will pretty much be a single parent. Then she was saying how after a few years with her husband she got sick of seeing him everyday! She was nice and funny, but I thought it was weird of her to say those kind of things to a bride-to-be! So then we came back up to the High Desert and went to see Boulder Creek Ranch. That place is huge and so unexpected for the desert. The view from the arbor, where they hold the ceremonies, is really really pretty. There is a lot of stuff not finished, which is why they aren't really showing it yet. I am a little apprehensive about that place because they haven't held any weddings there yet and its all run by the husband and wife. I asked her about the military clause and she said she had never heard of it and would have to talk to her husband. I like the Crestmore Manor because they are used to doing weddings and are completely set up to do them, but the date thing and the absolute no on military clauses make me think it's not gonna happen. At least I got my 2 main places looked at before I leave the state.
